Everything you need to download Grunz, unlock it with a license, connect your own model, and start building. Grunz runs on your machine and against the model provider you choose. You own it, you host it, you run it without limits.

01 ·What Grunz Is

Grunz is one desktop app that does the work of many. From a single interface it can:

• Edit files and whole projects directly on your disk
• Generate images
• Write and run code
• Research the web and pull findings back into your work

The important part: Grunz runs on models you choose and host. There is no Grunz model, no Grunz cloud, and no hidden inference. You bring your own provider and your own API key, and Grunz is the cockpit you drive it from.

It is a one-time $100 license. Self-hosted. No subscription, no seats, no metering from us. Buy it once and it is yours.

02 ·Install

Grunz is free to download. A license key unlocks it. Grab the build for your platform from the download section on the home page — grunz.fly.dev:

• macOS — .dmg, Apple Silicon
• Windows — .exe, Windows 10/11
• Linux — .AppImage

Install it the way you would any app for your platform, then open it. You can explore the app before activating; a license is required to unlock full use.

03 ·Buy a License

A license is a one-time $100 payment in cryptocurrency. We accept USDC, USDT, BTC, and ETH. Payment is peer-to-peer to a wallet address shown at checkout.

Once your payment is confirmed on-chain, you will receive a license key by email in the form:

GRUNZ-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

Keep this key somewhere safe — it is your proof of purchase and the key you use to activate Grunz on any machine.

04 ·Activate

1. Open Grunz.
2. Choose Activate.
3. Paste your license key (GRUNZ-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX).

Licenses verify locally and offline. There is no phone-home, no account to create, and no server that has to be reachable for Grunz to keep working. Your key is validated on your own machine.

05 ·Connect a Model (Featherless)

Grunz does not ship a model — it runs against your own model endpoint. Featherless is a straightforward provider to start with:

1. Create a Featherless account.
2. Generate an API key.
3. In Grunz onboarding, paste your endpoint URL and API key.

You pay your model provider directly for compute — Grunz never sits in the middle of that billing. You pick the model, you set the rules, and your prompts and data go straight from your machine to the provider you chose.

06 ·System Requirements

• macOS 12 or later (Apple Silicon)
• Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit
• Linux — a modern distribution with AppImage support
• An internet connection
• A model provider account (e.g. Featherless) with an API key

07 ·Troubleshooting / FAQ

The app says it's "damaged" or can't be opened (macOS)

This is macOS Gatekeeper being cautious with apps outside the App Store. Right-click the app and choose Open, or allow it under System Settings > Privacy & Security, then open it again.

Where's my license key?

It is emailed to you once your crypto payment is confirmed. Check your inbox and your spam/junk folder. If it still hasn't arrived, contact support@grunzai.com with your transaction reference.

Can I move Grunz to a new computer?

Yes. Install Grunz on the new machine and re-activate with the same license key. Your license is yours to run.

Is my data private?

Yes. Everything runs locally on your machine, and your prompts, files, conversations, and generated content never pass through Grunz servers. See the Privacy Policy for details.
